100519 TV PIA MAGAZINE – Yunho: “I Am A Hardworking Person”

Yunho starred in the television drama [No Limit~ Heading To The Ground], and took up the challenge of portraying the character of Bong Gun, who is passionate yet constantly gets into trouble.

“Bong Gun is someone who is very innocent. Even when he faces an obstacle, and it is very tough, he will work very hard to overcome the obstacle, and in the process of it, mature at the same time. This is quite similar to my own life experience and that was why I wanted to try out for this character. I also met up with numerous obstacles and challenges before my debut, but I always believed that I would make it on stage one day, and this belief is very similar to that of Bong Gun’s.”

Through this drama, I had a deeper understanding of the differences between being a singer and being an actor.

“A singer has to be able to let the audience experience a range of emotions with about three minutes of music. However, in a drama, we have to work closely together with the crew, and from the first to the sixteenth episode, be able to act out the character in such a convincing way that it will allows the audience to see him grow and mature. As this is my first television drama, feeling anxious is inevitable, but I am glad I was able to act out the character of Bong Gun, who matured as the drama progressed. I feel that I have grown myself. Even though the filming has ended, Bong Gun still lives in my heart.”

The character is a soccer player, and so, in order to play out the character well, Yunho would play the sport as often as he can when he has the time.

“I would play soccer with the crew during break or resting times, and would practice stopping the ball amongst other skills. I enjoyed myself a lot as I like soccer myself. Also, as most of the moves are pretty special, we often had to re-take a couple of times before we succeeded. It was really tough, and I hope everyone will pay more attention to those parts. Bong Gun has a soccer player whom he looks up to, and as for me, I like Argentina’s Messi and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Also, this year is the World Cup, and Asia is on a strong momentum; if Korea and Japan were to determine the victory, it would be great.”

Seeing a happy expression on his face as he talked about soccer really left a deep impression on us.
Furthermore, when asked if he will take on more challenging roles as an actor after this performance, he replied confidently, “I want to continue to act different roles like that of a villain; something that is not just limited to the image of “Uknow Yunho”. I hope for everyone to see me in different portrayals of different characters. My strength is that I would take up any challenge passionately, because I am a hardworking person. It doesn’t take talent alone to succeed. Michael Jackson was actually a very hardworking person too.” He also mentioned later that he really likes Michael Jackson.

Stars promote Cartier’s LOVE DAY

Cartier will be spreading the love and do some charity for their Cartier’s Love Day in Korea and they have roped in top Korean celebrities for their event.

The celebrities chosen were Rain, Kim Hee Sun, Ji Jin Hee, Ha Ji Won, Son Ye Jin, Kim Hyun Joong, Yoona and Yunho where they filmed for pictures, while wearing the Love Summer Bracelet from Cartier.

The above-mentioned pictures will be displayed at an exhibition called LOVE collections held in the Cheongdam Maison Cartier boutiques from June 4th to the 13th. This exhibition will help spread the spirit of love for this event which is now into it’s 4th year. Proceeds from the sale of the bracelets will go to the International Organization IVI (International Vaccine Institute).

'Pervert Fangirls Get Ready To Scream'

- Incident 4:

This happened when they changed the photo shooting venue to the pier. This time Yunho changed into shorts which is even SHORTER than the one he worn at airport!!! Two third of his thighs were exposed. (Ahhhhh) And he was very natural making pose in front of camera. He sat by the curb at the pier, he curled one of his legs and the other leg was straight. At this moment the photographer noticed something….he went over to help Yunho to straiten his shorts (actually is to close the gap in between) Yunho suddenly realized the situation and his reaction was hilarious!!! We fangirls went gaga…nose bleeding….However to be honest we couldn't see anything. This was pure hilarious and we can't help go crazy about it.

Update 6:

''Pure And Innocent Boy from Gwangzhu''

From midnight till morning, everyone was well behave, we just watched him worked quietly. We didn't make noise, didn't take picture, we just accompanied him like his friends. Yunho was very relax the whole time. He laughed so hard when his manager was joking, and he made the staff laugh too. The whole night he was singing and whistling away like a kid. Occasionally he pretend to be traffic police when he saw the cars coming. When he was bored he leaned against the road sign…at the end…he broke the road sign!!!!

Update 7:

'Conscientious working man is the most beautiful thing ever'

Yunho has been tossing himself about posing, changing outfits, touch-up, joking with staff the whole night, At the end he couldn't hide his tiredness…and he yawned. One of us noticed they are running out of water, so we wanted to get them drinks and some food for breakfast, but since we did not prepare it and there has not any much shop near here, so at the end we only managed to get them drinks. However, we brought many gifts for Yunho too and one of us who prepared the gifts is a FANBOY, who stalked Yunho the whole night like us. Yunho's charisma is irresistible.

Update 8 (end):

'We were touched by his actions'

Now the photo shooting is finished, Yunho changed into his own clothes, which is another pair of shorts and he was wearing slippers. Everyone followed him back to hotel. We got off the car before him and we lined up from his car to the entrance of the hotel. When he got off we gave him a round of applause. We could sense that he was touched by our action. He kept smiling and nodding his head and holding Bambi (a gift from fan) with one hand. We watched him reached the hotel entrance, and at the end he gave us a big surprise, he suddenly held his other hand (non bambi holding hand) and waved 'Goodbye' with his back facing us. He is so cute till we want to cry. We were so touched by it, how can we not love him.. he is so perfect.. we can't stop thinking.…is he going to sleep with Bambi –his daughter tonight?

20100517 early morning Yunho was working on photo shooting at old quarter in HK. Fans estimated Yunho has at least 10 different outfits. His hair was kind of messy but handsome, the theme is 'ragged style'. He often had eye contact with fans who were watching him. …Omit …. According to fans, the shooting venue is kind of old and shabby, very suit the theme

Update 3:

On Monday 17th, fans who were at the shooting venue observed many things about Yunho. We all know how wonderful Yunho is, but to witness yourself is so real and touching.

- Incident 1:

We all saw the pic where Yunho grabbed the hand of the fangirl in front of traffic light to prevent her from hitting by car before. Yunho always shows his concern and care to his fans. And tonight, we experienced it. The cars on the road are few but very fast. Yunho was walking with his manager and when they were about to cross the road he turned back to check the fans who were following him. He didn’t say anything but we know he tried to remind us to be careful don’t just look at him but watch out for the incoming cars.

- Incident 2:

There was a part where Yunho was required to pose with a cigarette, toward the end shooting Yunho passed the cigarette to his manager,and his manager without hesitation smoke the remaining cigarette and threw the cigarette bud on the floor. Yunho point to the floor and hinted his manager to throw the cigarette bud properly.

"WHO CAN BEAT HIM WHEN COMES TO "KAWAII"

One moment Yunho is all charismatic the next moment become dorky & playful and he keep switching between these 2 characters. The fangirls at site were so amused seeing him like that. So to know what happen, read below incident.

- Incident 3:

The photo shooting continue until sunrise, theweather was good. People started morning walk with their dogs. Yunho spotted a big dog (with owner), this must have reminded him of his 'son' - Typhoon, suddenly he became playful, he ran to the dog and benddown his body and made funny sound (like chit chit) to entice the doggy. His facial expression was extremely funny.

After a while another dog came by, this time was a small white dog. It barked at the fangirls. Yunho tried to play with him, but the dog kept barking at him too.This little white dog just don't buy Yunho's charisma.

Lastly, came a small yellow dog, this one is verygentle and obedient. The staff were helping Yunho with his clothes and fixinghis hair. And this dog just went and licked the ladies and Yunho, he can’t be bothered with his hair and clothes and started playing with the dog AGAIN!!!.

HK Airport Fan Account

I just want to share the fan accounts from Baidu. Since this morning when Incheon Airport pic was posted, the chinese fans already went crazy, many didn't know that he was going to HK, many regretted because they were not prepared for this. Many fans only know it around 10-11am this morning. some just decided to rush to HK airport immediately. At the end the eyewitness said there are about 500 fans waiting for Yunho by the time he arrived.

Because this is suppose an unannounced schedule, Yunho didn't bring bodyguard only one staff went with him. Thats why you can see he got nobody to protect him. You can see from the pic, the fans waited for him outside the washroom, that was because he hid in the WC for a while to waiting for rescue!!! Poor baby. Wonder how could he manage to maintain that smile after this epic.

Then you can see here, another pic where Yunho was walking past the glass wall, that was when the guards came and escorted him out. Chinese fans said few fangirls fell, and Yunho was almost lost his balance too, but still he tried to help the fangirl who fell down but the guard stopped him. He never stop showing his sympathy to others even he is under 'siege'. Really he is a great man.

The touching moment was that, the fans shouted "mianne" and "sarangyea" when he was hiding in WC, and shouted 'mianne' again before Yunho got into the car. "Sigh!" fangirls in HK airport might be aggressive, but i seemed to understand their feelings. Who would want to miss seeing him in person?

Singer BoA together with 2 members of TVXQ U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin finally appeared in front of Korean public after a long time.

The three on May 14th at 11:00 am attended SM Entertainment and Samsung Electronics’ collaboration press conference in regards to expansion of 3D-related content, meanwhile the producer of the agency, Lee Soo Man attended along with them.

At the event day, SM and Samsung through the press conference described thoroughly the business direction they’re going to conduct with the director of 3D movie ‘Avatar’, James Cameron.

After opening remarks by BoA on stage, producer Lee Soo Man said, “It’s nice to meet all of you in this place, and that we’re able to attend this event together. I have a high expectation for an upcoming movie that will be produced for SMTOWN.”

TVXQ U-Know Yunho also said, “It’s a good opportunity to have a 3D production, frankly 3D content is new to the culture, so I’ll work hard for that. We ask many love and support in the future as well.” Changmin added, “It’s an honor to me to be able to attend at this place for 3D Content Leadership Collaboration. Indeed it’s a good project, thus I will try to give my best in creating a good content.”

The main issue of this collaboration with Director James Cameron of Avatar is to produce music and concert videos of SM Entertainment artists in 3D and Samsung will take the advantage for the 3D content in marketing their 3D TV.

Samsung Electronics with production team of Avatar from Director James Cameron has already held a Full HD 3D LED TV Global Launch event at New York Time Square in last March, and at the event, the 3D video of Black Eyed Peas live live performance was captured, ever since the 3D TV has been actively marketed.

First Drama DVD Release celebration interview

As an actor he took a new step, we asked him about the drama and his decision for the future-

The drama Yunho was the main character of and his real actor debut drama is going to be on DVD!
“In the beginning there was pressure but I thought if I work hard the viewers will understand so I was able to enjoy it. The character I played, Cha Bong-gun has a pure heart in the beginning. But as he meets many people he matures. At the same time I think I was able to mature with him.”

He talked how it is different from an artist who has to act/express in 3 minutes during a song.
“I want to challenge a character that’s different from Bong-gun. Like a bad guy, or a sad character. The actor I look up to is Johnny Depp. I envy how he is attractive even if a kid sees him or even if an adult sees him.”

And what we want to know is as Yunho what he wants to challenge in the future.
“Even if I get a chance, if I think I shouldn’t do it yet I won’t do it. If I had a chance and when I have confidence then I want to challenge. Then I want to show everyone how I am challenging passionately. My motto is ‘a genius can’t win a hard working person’. I think im proud that everytime I do something I work hard. So that’s why I want to be more hard working. And for singing and acting I want to become Yunho who levels up so please watch over me.”

№1 - Supposedly Yunho is going to Hong Kong pretty soon to do a photoshoot, possibly for Esquire.

№2 - Boa, Yunho and Changmin will be attending with Lee Soo Man to a press conference on the 14th at Samsung Electronics in Seoul because SME, director of Avatar James Cameron and Samsung are going to work together on a 3D project.

Tohoshinki’s leader, Yunho brought attention to the first drama he starred in “No Limit ~heading to the ground~” is finally going to be on DVD! It is going to be sold from 6/16.

“Since it was my first time acting I had a lot of pressure but I don’t really think there is a big difference for actors and artists. If a melody was added to the lines it will become music, I think it connects as in for each song, you act out the character. More than anything if you work hard I think that the viewers would understand so I played the character Cha Bong-gun with all my heart.”

Bong-Gun causes some trouble and is a trouble maker. But he is straight forward, pure, and is passionate. Yunho and him have that in common. “As I was playing the role I also thought we had things in common. In the beginning Bong-Gun gets upset right away and was immature but as he meets many people he starts to mature. It was my first drama and the set and staffs were different then usual. I had new experience everyday and had troubles too but I think as a human I was able to mature too.”

Yunho who went through many troubles in the drama. Is there any trouble that you can laugh and talk about now?
“It’s the trainee time before my debut. At that time I lived in the country side so it took me like 4 hours to come and go. Before I couldn’t dance or sing like now and I had troubles but I only thought about singing on stage and that’s why everyday with passion I went to lesson.”

Yunho who went through times like that is a star that represents Asia. But his hard working and modesty hasn’t changed. “From on now drama of course, but I want to challenge many images. For that I will work hard every day and work hard more than anyone.”

Lastly, if you were to be in a Japanese drama in the future, who would you want to act with?
“Matsu Takako-san. When I watched “HERO” (fuji tv 2001) her character was smart,bright and sexy and I felt attracted. In a way I admire her. I like older women too *laughs*.”
